Rosewood & leather sommelier corkscrew
Wood and leather combined. This sommelier's wooden corkscrew combines a Dalbergia rosewood handle with a genuine leather insert on the grip area. The leather—positioned where the thumb and forefinger grasp the handle—improves grip when screwing the corkscrew onto tightly closed corks. The rosewood provides its high density (0.85 g/cm³) and characteristic pinkish-brown grain, while the leather adds a functional, non-slip texture and a distinctive aesthetic touch.
- Dalbergia rosewood handle: density 0.85 g/cm³, unique pinkish-brown grain
- Genuine leather insert on the grip area: improved grip, durable end caps
- Wood and leather combination: premium aesthetics and complementary anti-slip function
- Stainless steel sommelier mechanism: 5-turn helix + double-notch lever + foil cutter
The leather insert on a wooden handle is more than just an aesthetic detail: when screwing on a dense, fine wine cork (cork density 0.20+ g/cm³), the required torque can reach 1.2 Nm—the point at which smooth wood slips between wet fingers. The leather creates greater friction (a coefficient of 0.6 vs. 0.3 for polished wood) which stabilizes the rotation even with wet hands.

Rosewood and leather care
Rosewood: Wipe dry after use, oil twice a year with food-grade oil. The pinkish grain will gradually darken with use. For leather, Limonadier recommends: lightly brush with a soft, dry brush to remove dust and cork fibers. Apply a colorless leather cream annually: a thin coat, let it dry for 30 minutes, then buff.
