Plastic wine glass

Plastic wine glass: unbreakable, reusable, suitable for every occasion

A plastic wine glass is nothing like the transparent tumbler of the 90s. Today's models, made of Tritan or polycarbonate, perfectly mimic the shape of a real tulip-shaped wine glass : a well-defined bowl, crystal-clear transparency, and a comfortable grip. The difference? They don't break.

At Limonadier , we select each glass with a sommelier's eye: the shape of the glass is just as important as the material. Whether you're organizing a wedding, a christening, drinks with friends, or a corporate event, you'll find the perfect glass for your occasion and budget here. Browse our selection and compare the models directly on this page.

Disposable or reusable: which to choose?

This is the first question to ask yourself before buying. Both have their uses, but not for the same situations.

The disposable wine glass

Ideal for parties where dishes are a constraint: birthdays with 50 people, barbecues, picnics, neighborhood gatherings. Transparent polystyrene models remain the most economical solution, starting at just a few cents each depending on the quantity. Practical, lightweight, and available in large quantities.

  • Very low price per unit (from €0.10 depending on the pack)
  • No dishes to wash after the event
  • Available in different sizes (15 cl, 18 cl, 25 cl)
  • Single use only — recycle if possible

The reusable wine glass

For recurring events or professionals who want a product that lasts. Reusable glasses made of Tritan or polycarbonate withstand hundreds of dishwasher cycles without becoming cloudy. Their transparency remains intact, their design stands the test of time.

  • Shock and drop resistant
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Economical in the long run
  • End-of-life recyclable option

For associations, local authorities, caterers, and organizers of regular events: reusable options are essential. The unit cost is higher, but it pays for itself quickly.

Materials: what you need to know

Not all plastic cups are made of the same material. And that difference makes all the difference depending on the use.

  • Tritan. The premium option. Transparent like glass, BPA-free, shock-resistant, and withstands repeated washing. Used by professional wine tasters and at major events. INAO Tritan glassware is the standard for wine tasting.
  • Polycarbonate. Highly durable, lightweight, and transparent. Excellent for outdoor events and festivals. Withstands repeated impacts well. Dishwasher safe.
  • PP (polypropylene). Rigid, lightweight, often frosted or translucent. Less transparent than Tritan. Good value for money for basic professional use.
  • Polystyrene. The material used for entry-level disposable cups. Transparent, brittle, single-use. The cheapest on the market.

For what occasion?

Wedding and baptism

An outdoor or marquee wedding often requires a ban on glass. Transparent Tritan models with slender stems create a perfect illusion in photos. Some models can be personalized with the couple's names or the date—see our personalization section. You should also consider having an air corkscrew, or even several. The effect when the cork pops out of the bottle is guaranteed!

Appetizers, parties and birthdays

For a birthday party at home or drinks with friends, disposable 18cl glasses do the job perfectly well. If you entertain regularly, reusable polycarbonate glasses are a better long-term investment.

Wine tasting

Yes, you can certainly enjoy a wine properly in a plastic glass, provided you choose the right one. The 20cl INAO size in transparent Tritan concentrates aromas well thanks to its narrow bowl. Light wines are well-suited to it: rosés, crisp whites, and low-tannin reds like Gamay or Pinot Noir. Very tannic wines or grand crus will always benefit from a crystal glass—but for an outdoor tasting or a large event, Tritan is an excellent solution. Remember to bring an airtight stopper for any bottles that aren't completely empty.

Corporate events and catering

Caterers, associations, and local authorities generally buy in bulk. Packs of 50 to 500 reusable glasses offer tiered pricing. The logistical savings are significant: no breakage, no loss, and they can be washed in industrial dishwashers. Don't forget to order wine pitchers for serving at your tables.

Cocktails and fruit drinks

Plastic stemmed glasses also work well for cocktails and soft drinks. Their shape concentrates aromas in the same way as with wine. Tritan models are perfectly resistant to colored drinks (red berries, tangy cocktails) without staining.

Personalization

Many models are available in customizable versions: company logo, name, event date, custom design. This is a popular option for weddings, corporate events, or association gifts. Customization is generally done by screen printing or pad printing, with a minimum order quantity that varies depending on the manufacturer.

How to choose your plastic wine glass

  • Frequency of use. Single event → disposable. Regular events → reusable.
  • The number of people. Below 30: reusable items are easy to manage. Above 100: disposable items simplify logistics.
  • Usage. Wine tasting → INAO-sized Tritan. General party → polycarbonate or PP. Wedding with photo → slim transparent Tritan.
  • The budget. Disposable polystyrene: €0.05 to €0.15 each. Reusable PP: €0.80 to €1.50 each. Premium Tritan: €2 to €5 each.
  • Customization available. Please allow 5 to 10 working days for production, depending on the model.

Care of reusable glasses

  • Tritan and polycarbonate models are dishwasher safe.
  • Avoid temperatures above 70°C to preserve transparency over time.
  • No abrasive products or scouring pads — a soft cloth is sufficient.
  • Air dry rather than using a cloth to avoid micro-scratches.
  • The frosted PP lenses become slightly opaque over time — this is normal, it does not affect their strength.

FAQ

Does a plastic cup change the taste of wine?

For a simple wine or an outdoor tasting, the difference is negligible. For a great wine with years of bottle aging, a crystal glass remains preferable for capturing the subtle aromas. In practice, for 90% of outdoor situations or large gatherings, a quality Tritan glass does the job perfectly well.

What is the price of a pack of plastic wine glasses?

Packs of 18cl disposable cups start at around €5-8 for 50 units. Reusable polycarbonate cups start at €15-20 for 12. Premium Tritan models are priced between €20 and €40 for 6. Prices vary depending on the material and quantity ordered.

Are plastic cups recyclable?

Tritan and polycarbonate are recyclable. The polystyrene in disposable cups is also theoretically recyclable, but rarely collected separately. If eco-responsibility is important to you, reusable options remain the best choice in the long run.

Can I order in large quantities for my association or community?

Yes. We offer volume discounts. Contact us directly for a quote on professional packages or custom orders.

Where can I buy plastic wine glasses at a competitive price?

Available directly on Limonadier.co. Our prices are competitive thanks to a curated selection that eliminates unnecessary intermediaries. Delivery is free for orders over a certain amount, and professional packages benefit from tiered pricing. Can't decide between two models? Our team will respond within 24 hours.

What size wine glass should I choose?

The 18cl format is the standard for event service—it allows for two servings per 75cl bottle. The 25cl size is better suited for a casual aperitif or a glass of rosé on a terrace. The 20cl INAO format is ideal if you're organizing a tasting.
