Sommelier's wooden corkscrew
Four uses in one palm. This wooden corkscrew incorporates, in addition to its classic functions (wine spiral, foil cutter, beer opener), a rare fourth function: a jar opener. The steel jar opener tab rests under the rim of the metal lid and releases the closing pressure with a lever. Compatible with lids from 50 to 85mm in diameter—jam jars, terrines, preserves—this function extends the tool's usefulness beyond the bar. That's why Limonadier recommends it.
- Four functions: wine screw capper + bottle cap cutter + beer opener + 50-85mm jar opener
- Steel jar opener tab: for metal screw-on lids from 50 to 85mm in diameter
- Short wooden handle 10cm: unobstructed access to jar opener on worktop
- Stainless steel on all active parts: kitchen and bar hygiene
The tab-type jar opener works on the physical principle of lifting the seal. The lid of the glass jar is held in place by a flexible gasket under negative pressure (-0.3 to -0.5 bar). The steel tab is inserted under the metal rim and, by leveraging the surface, lifts the lid locally—this lifting breaks the seal and immediately equalizes the pressure. The lid then unscrews effortlessly. Effective on new jars as well as on preserves whose gaskets have hardened over time.

Maintenance of the wooden corkscrew
Clean each function separately after each use. The jar opener tab accumulates food residue (olive oil, fruit juice) which must be removed after cooking. Rinse with hot water and dry.
