Wooden corkscrew with butterfly wings and stainless steel, easy and original for homemade wine.
The wings that rise. This wooden corkscrew with butterfly wings is also called a double-lever corkscrew or "mechanical corkscrew." It works differently from the sommelier's model: the two steel wings rise on either side as the helix penetrates the cork. Once the wings are in the raised position, they are lowered simultaneously with both hands, and the cork is then mechanically lifted.
- Butterfly wing mechanism: screwing + lowering the wings = extraction without a manual lever
- Central wooden handle: ergonomic rotating surface when screwing the propeller
- Stainless steel wings: resistant to repeated up-and-down cycles
- Universal adapter: compatible with standard 75cl bottles up to 150cl magnum bottles
Our online store , Limonadier, recommends this classic model because the butterfly-wing corkscrew offers a distinct ergonomic advantage for those who struggle with the sommelier-style lever. Lowering the two wings engages both hands simultaneously in the same movement, effectively doubling the force without requiring precise adjustments.

Correct technique: butterfly wings
Center the propeller tip on the cap. Hold the central wooden handle with two fingers and rotate the screw—the blades will gradually rise. Continue screwing until the blades are in their highest position AND the last turn is 3 mm from the cap. Do not stop too soon. Grasp both blades simultaneously and lower them in a smooth, continuous motion to the lowest position. The cap will come out intact. If the cap does not come out completely, raise the blades and reverse the screw by half a turn before lowering them again.
Maintenance of the wooden handle
Do not immerse in hot water. The central wooden handle: wipe dry, lightly oil twice a year.
