compressed air corkscrew
Pressure, not twisting. This air corkscrew works on a radically different principle than the helical corkscrew: a hollow stainless steel needle pierces the cork without perforating it completely. Each pump injects air between the bottle and the cork. The pressure builds up. The cork rises gradually and comes out intact in 5 to 8 pumps. No twisting of the wrist. No risk of cork fragments in the wine.
- Hollow stainless steel needle: 1.8mm diameter, 6.5cm length — total penetration through standard cork 44mm
- Short stroke (3cm) manual pump: 5 to 8 pumps are enough for a new cap
- Cap removed intact and reusable for resealing the bottle after serving
- Compatible with natural cork 38 to 50mm in length — not recommended for expanded synthetic cork
The 1.8mm diameter needle leaves a channel of less than 2.65mm² in the cork—imperceptible to the naked eye and with no impact on the seal if the cork needs to be resealed. The system's maximum pressure exceeds 6 bar, well above the 2 to 3 bar required to extract a new cork. The short-stroke pump reduces hand fatigue. Ideal for people with arthritis or grip problems.
