Champagne bottle opener
Discover the champagne corkscrew that operates according to a different set of rules. Unlike the cork used for still wine, the champagne cork is a composite stopper made of compressed agglomerated cork, held in place by a wire cage under 5 to 6 bars of internal pressure. This Limonadier champagne corkscrew features an ergonomic handle that provides a firm grip, even with wet hands. Two stainless steel prongs grasp the cork's skirt—the cylindrical part beneath the cap—and allow for controlled extraction through gradual rotation.
- Ergonomic, non-slip handle: secure grip at 6-8°C, champagne serving temperature
- Two stainless steel prongs: for gripping champagne cork skirts 28-30mm in diameter
- Controlled rotation extraction: a sigh rather than a bang — preserves the foam
- Compatible with brut champagne, crémant, cava, and prosecco with a natural champagne cork.
The ergonomic handle plays a critical role when opening: the bottle, at 6°C, sweats and slips in the hand. The non-slip tip maintains a secure grip even when used outdoors or in a humid cellar. The prongs spread apart to accommodate champagne corks from 28 to 32 mm in diameter—slightly larger on magnums (32 mm) than on standard bottles (28-30 mm). The gradual rotation—a quarter turn at a time—releases pressure in a controlled manner and prevents the cork from violently ejecting.
