Tamdhu

Tamdhu , the famous distillery located in the Speyside region of Scotland, is renowned for its production of whisky from the fertile valleys where the River Spey flows. It is from this pure and iconic water that Tamdhu draws its resources , used throughout the manufacturing process of its whiskies, renowned for their finesse and authenticity.

Tasting notes

  1. Nose: A soft and enveloping initial nose, dominated by the influence of sherry casks. Hints of cinnamon, creamy vanilla, and dried fruits complete a warm and elegant bouquet.
  2. Palate: The attack is supple, with a beautiful malty structure. The aromas of candied fruit and spices unfold with precision, enhanced by subtle nuances of dark cocoa, a light smoky touch and a tobacco note in the background.
  3. Finish: Persistent and harmonious, it prolongs the experience with flavors of melting praline, vanilla and ripe apricots, with a beautiful aromatic depth.

The analysis

With this limited edition, Tamdhu joins the trend of sherry-forward whiskies, which are increasingly appealing to lovers of gourmet and spicy profiles. The selection of first-fill Oloroso casks guarantees remarkable aromatic intensity. Hispanic inspiration, even in the design, reinforces the narrative of controlled aging deeply rooted in tradition. This type of whisky, both elegant and concentrated, could establish itself as a sought-after reference on the secondary market.

Limonadier's opinion

The Tamdhu 21 Year Old ticks all the boxes for an exceptional single malt: balance, power, depth, and a true stylistic statement. We particularly appreciated the complexity of the aromatic profile, marked by candied fruits, cocoa, and sweet spices. A bottle that undoubtedly deserves a place in the cellar of a discerning connoisseur, as much for its tasting experience as for its refined aesthetic.
